About Me

Welcome! My name is Lydia, I am a birth and postpartum doula based in San Diego, CA. I am originally from Missouri and relocated here in 2019.

I have a 6 year old daughter and have worked in childcare for the last decade. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Services in 2022. I am a bookworm, love the beach, and love hiking and exploring with my kiddo.

My goal as a doula is to empower the family by providing emotional and physical support, education and to be an advocate as needed. I will support you and your family in whatever your birth journey looks like.

I offer prenatal, labor, and postpartum services as packages or we can collaborate on what works for you and your family.

I support homebirths, birth center, and hospital births, including c- section

During prenatal visits we will get to know each other, discuss your goals for birth, discuss prenatal/labor/postpartum education.

We will explore and practice what comfort techniques you may wish to try in labor as well as discuss concerns and answer questions.

Prenatal Visits

Labor

During labor, I will be there to support you and your partner. I will assist with hydration, comfort measures, position changing, and being a calm and encouraging presence. Should your labor change course I will remain with you and provide support through these changes.

After birth, I will stay 1-2 hours to assist you with feeding, and make sure you and your family are comfortable and settled.

I will schedule a first postpartum visit for around 3-5 days after baby is born. During this visit I will discuss your birth, answer any questions you have about your labor, baby, or postpartum.
